I Wasn’t Afraid to Tell 1000+ Leaders This…

I was booked to speak with 1000+ leaders last week in Portugal. Not virtual, but in-person!

I stepped onto one of the most stunning stages I’ve ever seen, the Portugal Leadership Summit, one of the largest and most impactful gatherings of leaders in the world.

I had 20 minutes. 20 minutes to educate, empower, and spark a shift in the minds of over 1,000 leaders from across the globe.

And I started with this truth:

“I am not a perfect leader. And neither are you.”

The room grew still. You could feel the vulnerability sink in.

Because let’s be honest inclusive leadership isn’t about perfection. It’s not about pretending we have all the answers. It’s about what we choose to drive forward despite our imperfections.

And I told them exactly what I’ll tell you: As leaders, our greatest responsibility is to drive people and systems.

  • People, because they are the heartbeat of every organization.

  • Systems, because without fair, effective structures, even the best people can’t thrive.

When I looked out at the audience, I saw leaders tearing up, not because I said something flashy, but because I named the tension they live with every day. The pressure to be perfect. The expectation to always know. The silence that comes when no one admits they’re struggling.

The reality is, great leaders don’t just manage. They create space for others to thrive. They dismantle broken systems. They empower people with clarity, trust, and boldness.

That’s where the transformation happens.

If your organization is serious about cultivating leaders who don’t just perform but transform, let’s talk.
